ROCKFORD - Construction season is definitely in full swing.
The Illinois Dept. of Transportation will begin construction work on South Main street between Cedar Street and Clifton Avenue, a stretch of 1.6 miles, on Monday.
Traffic will be down to one lane in both directions. Flaggers will help control the flow of traffic.
Crews will remove and replace the entire roadway pavement, curbs, sidewalks, traffic signals, and installing new storm sewers. The start of construction is weather permitting.
