CHICAGO - The global online marketplace is poised to set up shop in the Windy City.
eBay Inc. announced it's moving to downtown Chicago and coming with them are 360 new jobs. It'll move into a 60,000 sq. ft. facility at the Merchandise Mart.
To help seal the deal, the state offered an estimated $12 million in tax credit. It'll apply to eBay's state tax liability. In return, eBay must invest $24 million into the Chicago expansion. The company says it should have 216 full-time jobs available by 2016 and the rest by 2017.
