ROCKFORD - Two charter schools get an extension to continue educating kids.
The Rockford Public School Board approved five year contract extensions for Galapagos Rockford and Legacy Academy of Excellence charter schools.
"It's part of the district's responsibility to make sure our charter schools have a high quality academic program that's best serving the needs of our community" says Assistant Superintendent of Accountability Dan Woestman.
Rockford's third charter school, CICS Jackson, is up for renewal next year.
