Dixon City Leaders Still Haunted By Rita Crundwell Scandal

DIXON - City officials work hard to make sure history doesn't repeat itself in Dixon, where Rita Crundwell, the city's former Comptroller, stole approximately $50 million over the course of two decades.  She was finally caught and sentenced to nearly 20 years in prison.

The city council is expected to vote Monday night on hiring a consultant to review the city's financial controls.  The review would last for 18 weeks and cost about $30,000.

The consultant will examine the safeguards currently in place, as well as provide advice on how to better monitor potential holes.
