Rockford-Day three heard testimony tying Kody Walsh to the scene of the crashed Ford Explorer, after he led police on a chase.
Nearly a dozen forensics and crime scene investigators took the stand, saying fingerprints found on the explorer matched those of Walsh. Patrick Phillips from the Illinois State Police observed “blood-like stains” on the van, and on murder victim Lori Daniel’s body.
DNA on a pair of shorts near the crash also matched the DNA of Walsh. The trial will continue tomorrow with the defense expected to being their opening statements.
