The agreement passed overwhelmingly, 13-1. It allows Groman Company to transform the crumbling eyesore into a hotel and conference center.
"You know these are improvements that really need to happen, that are part of the infrastructure and needs of our community," says Gary Anderson, President of The River District. "What's really great is that we're able to leverage 52 million dollars of private funds to make something even more happen with those funds. There's not too many times we have that opportunity."
The move will likely be voted on as an ordinance next week.
