ROCKFORD - It's not much, but gas prices are dropping.

According to, the average price for gasoline dropped 0.9 cents per gallon bringing the average to $3.64/g.  Meanwhile, nationwide drivers saw an increase of nine cents per gallon.

Even though the Rockford area saw a drop for the second consecutive week, analysts say don't get used to it.

"It still may get worse" says Senior Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan.  "In the next few weeks as maintenance [at refineries are] finished, there could be localized price spikes.
