ROCKFORD - The man who interrupted a charity's Christmas toy giveaway in a drunken stupor is going to prison.

Mauricio Palacios, 42, will spend 16 years in prison after pleading guilty to driving drunk and crashing his car into the Rockford Rescue Mission.  Palacios told investigators he was angry when the mission denied his request to volunteer for the giveaway.

He was charged with aggravated battery and aggravated DUI.  Palacios also must pay a $1,000 fine for not having car insurance.
