Report: 19-year-old, Alcohol Involved in Fatal Rockford Crash

ROCKFORD--Authorities have identified Richard Parker, 35, as the victim of a two-car crash on 11th Street late last night.

Parker was pronounced dead on the scene and his daughter was injured and taken to St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford. Her condition is not known, but she is said to have non-life threatening injuries.

Rockford Police are investigating the crash and kept 11th Street closed for most of Labor Day while crews gathered information. No one was available to comment on the status of the investigation, but police believe alcohol is a factor.

Unconfirmed reports identify the driver of the SUV as 19-year-old Steven Pancyrz of Rockford. He is currently at St. Anthony Medical Center in fair condition and is currently awaiting trial on a previous DUI arrest from January. A month prior, Pancryz negotiated a plea deal for a marijuana possession arrest from last summer.

ROCKFORD-- A man is dead two more are sent to the hospital after an early morning accident.

Police say it happened just after midnight in the 5600 block of 11th street.

When they arrived on the scene, they found an SUV and a car in the ditch.

Officials say the driver of the SUV rear ended the car and that’s when both vehicles left the road.

The male passenger in the car was pronounced dead at the scene and the other passenger, along with the driver of the SUV were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police believe alcohol to be a factor.

Charges are pending and while officials investigate, 11th street between Samuelson Road and Blackhawk Road will be closed for several hours.
