Four Teens Arrested in Connection to Stolen Car

Teens between 13 and 17 years old

ROCKFORD -     Four teens are arrested after a car was stolen Friday night. It happened just before 9:30 last night on the 2100 block of 23rd Street. A woman says she was giving a ride to two girls between thirteen and fifteen years old. Police say one of the girls smacked the driver in the back of the head with a gun and forced her out of the car. Then, they got in the front seat and took off in the 2007 Buick Rendezvous.
A Rockford Police officer pulled them over a few hours later on the 1000 block of 10th Street. Two 17-year-old males in the car were also arrested. They have now been released to their guardians. The girls are being detained in the Winnebago County Detention Center. They're now facing several charges, including driving without a license and aggravated vehicular hijacking.
