Rockford - Generation Y entrepreneurs, also known as Millennials, got the opportunity of a lifetime at city hall this afternoon.
They were able to speak with the CEO's of multiple local organizations including the YMCA of Rock River Valley, United Way, and Rockford Are Convention and Visitors Bureau.
The goal of the event was to allow the young and upcoming businessmen and women to network in the business world.
Don George, the Director for the Generation Y Encouragement Program, said, "Our plans for Rockford is typically to begin to activate entrepreneurism (sic) amongst the millennial demographic, and we want to make sure our leaders, that are in current key positions today, can begin to mentor the next generation."
The Generation Y initiative plans to have similar networking events in the future.
