These items, everything
from coats, to ramen noodles are going to a good cause. Students moving out of
Director of Northern Illinois Media and Public Relations Paul Palian says "it's a great idea for recycling and getting items that are still useful into people's hands that need them.
The donated clothing will go to the local DeKalb Goodwill store. It's part of a new partnership with the university.
Judy Furlong of Goodwill says "anything that we can help do within the community and with NIU being a big portion of DeKalb, it's a great opportunity.
Also, it is a great opportunity to keep money in the community.
Furlong says "we can resale the clothes, put the money back into the community, and the items we cannot use, we will be salvaging. So that will still be putting more money into the community."
Bobby Kuntzendorf and his team mates on the NIU baseball team are stepping up to the plate to help those in need. He hopes the team's giving spirit will rub off on his fellow Huskies.
