Grading Illinois Schools

Schools across the Land of Lincoln get a "C" for educational policy and performance.

The grade was given by the newspaper, "Education Week".

Grades are based on two categories, "Student Chances for Success", which the state received a "B-".  In the "Teaching Profession" category, the state received a D+.  It averages out to a score of 76.3%, which is just below the national average (76.5%)

The top performing state overall is Maryland.  South Dakota finished last.
