SPRINGFIELD - Illinois State Police have new recruits and some of them are coming to the Stateline.
A graduation ceremony was held Friday morning in Springfield. 37 cadets can now call themselves State Troopers.
"These men and women dedicated themselves to successfully completing 25 weeks of rigorous training to become Illinois State Police officers" says ISP Director Hiram Grau. "We welcome them to our ranks and salute their commitment to serving the citizens of Illinois."
Four of those troopers are being assigned to District 16, which is based in Pecatonica. Two more are being stationed at District 1 in Sterling.
The new graduates will begin patrolling their designated areas Monday, July 28.
