HARVARD - A teen is in the hospital after being shot by his brother.

It happened Tuesday around 11am in the 9700 block of Wright Road.  Two brothers were playing at home when they found an unsecured .22 caliber rifle.  Police say the kids thought the gun wasn't loaded.  One of them pulled the trigger and shot his 15 year-old brother in the stomach.

The victim was flown to Rockford Memorial Hospital in stable condition.  The teens' parents weren't home since they're out of town.  However, there were other adults in the house.

No charges have been filed at this time.
