Rockford- Dozens of accidents across the Stateline due to slick driving conditions. A Chevy Blazer crashed into a utility pole off Riverside and Owen Center Road. Local tow truck companies say they’re getting slammed.
A to Z Towing’s Matt Wollert says “I’ve been out all day. I haven’t stopped anywhere at all except to pull people out of the ditch. It’s been pretty hectic.”
It’s just one of many accidents caused by Stateline snowfall. An accident on bypass 20 left a driver having to be extricated from a minivan.
Wollert says “if its that slick people need to slow down. They’re going off the road all over the place. It’s a mess.”
City officials say you should not be out driving in this weather unless you have to.
Rockford Street Superintendent Mark Stockman says “citizens just need to take their time if they don’t have to go out, you know stay home. If they have to be out on the streets, they’re gonna need to allow extra time and they’re going to need to slow down and allow extra distance from the vehicles in front of them.
