ROCKFORD - Rockford city officials have issued a traffic advisory for drivers in downtown Rockford Thursday afternoon.
The Illinois Kids Wrestling Federation state tournament gets underway with weigh-ins at 4:30 p.m. Thursday at the BMO Harris Bank Center. That's expected to cause congestion downtown before the weigh-ins begin as families and participants arrive.
Weigh-ins are expected to last until around 6:30 p.m.
The tournament will resume Friday at 6 a.m., when more traffic downtown is expected.
The tournament runs all day Friday and Saturday, with championships bouts set to take place beginning around 5:30 p.m. Saturday. Things will wrap up following those matches.
Shuttle services and event parking are being offered in an attempt to limit the amount of congestion downtown. More on those services can be found here.
