JANESVILLE - A car accident leads to one man under arrest.
The incident happened around 4:30pm on Wednesday. Randy Bluhm, 48, made a wide turn and nearly struck a curb at the intersection of W. Delevan and S. Washington. Police say he over corrected and crossed the centerline. An officer tried to pull him over, but the driver ran over the curb anyway and nearly hit a car.
After Bluhm stopped, the officer found him with an open can of beer. Bluhm admitted he'd been drinking and smoked marijuana just 20 minutes prior. The officer conducted a field sobriety, which Bluhm failed. Bluhm has been convicted of OWI five previous times.
Bluhm is currently being held in the Rock County Jail. In addition to the OWI offense, he's charged with operating a motor vehicle after his license had been revoked, no insurance, and having an open intoxicant in a motor vehicle by the driver.
