ROCKFORD - The Rock River Valley Blood Center (RRVBC) says they currently have below a one day supply of four different blood types, citing the extreme cold for putting donor traffic at a standstill.
Jennifer Bowman, Marketing Manager for the RRVBC, says they're in desperate need of A negative, O negative, B negative and B positive blood.
Bowman says along with the cold, an increase in flu and cold symptoms locally as well as people leaving town for the holidays has left the blood center with very few able and willing donors.

The RRVBC reminds potential donors that donating blood just one time can save up to three lives.
The First Warn Weatherisk will remain Moderate Monday night into Tuesday.
