Food Bank President and CEO, Julie Yurko, says this is important for getting those in need a proper nutritious diet. "We [were] able to start this pilot program two years ago with Prairie Farms, [and we're] hoping to replicate [the program] nationally,” Yurko says. “It's just a real blessing to us and our hungry families because we know every kid, every senior, every woman, every man, we all need the nutrients in milk to lead healthy, active, hopeful lives."
The donations are part of Northern Illinois Food Bank's innovative program for Hunger Action Month.
