10 young men were sworn in as firefighters, Wednesday night.
After 5 months and 280 hours of classroom and field training, they say sticking with it was the hardest part.
"You've got to be persistent, you've got to be consistent, you've got to stay in it," said Kevin Stephens, firefighter. "Don't give up."
This was the first year that South Beloit and Rockton teamed up for the recruiting.
