WTVO/WQRF - Illinois residents who suffer from seizures will soon have a new treatment option.

Governor Pat Quinn signed legislation into law, Sunday, that adds adults and children with seizures to the state's Medical Cannabis Act.

For the first time, children will have the option to use non-smokable forms of medical marijuana for symptom relief with adult consent.

The legislation takes affect January 1, 2015.
