New Candidate Enters Race to Replace Rep. Litesa Wallace

ROCKFORD - A new candidate enters the fray in the race to replace Rep. Litesa Wallace (D) as the 67th District State Representative.

Maurce West, II announced Monday he's running for the recently vacated seat.  The democrat and community activist grew up in Rockford, graduating from Jefferson High School.  If elected, West says one of the issues he'll focus on is creating jobs in the city.

"I want to provide tax incentives, look into tax incentives for our entrepreneurs and local business owners that promote and bring jobs," said West.

West faces fellow community activist and educator Bryant Moore in the primary election.
