DEKALB - Another day of freezing temperatures prompts the city and Northern Illinois University to do something in the name of student safety.
Two extra buses will run routes this week.
One bus will run on Route 5 and will appear as "5R". It will be operational until Thursday from 10am-2pm.
A second bus will be added to Route 7 and will run from 2pm-6pm until Friday.
"There's an increase of students using the buses during the cold and dangerous weather" says Joe Frascello, Director of Mass Transit for the NIU Student Association. "This is not a permanent solution, but at least students will be safe and warm on the buses as they travel around campus."
For more information on the routes, call 815-758-6900.
