DEKALB- The Northern Illinois Huskies lost to Bowling Green in the MAC Conference Championship Game 47-27.
NIU missed out on the historic opportunity to attend two BCS Bowl Games in a row.
Eyewitness News headed to DeKalb to get campus reaction. And many students are looking positively at the season and a chance at a smaller bowl game.
"It’s still a great season. It’s always sad because everybody thought that we were going to go to another big game, but it is what it is. 12-1 is still a pretty good record," said NIU Student Matthew Frierdick.
"I was pretty bummed out because they were doing so well the whole season and kind of had not so great of a game," said NIU Student Alyssa Dorlac.
