One Person in Critical Condition After Early Morning Shooting

ROCKFORD - One person is in critical condition after a shooting this morning on Rockford's west side.

Police say it happened just after 1 A.M. this morning in the 3300 block of Alida Street. The victim told police he was shot in the back through the rear windshield. He then continued to drive to the intersection of Bollinger and Merriott Drive and called for help. He was later transported to the hospital and underwent emergency surgery.

Police say the victim is suffering from life threatening injuries. Anyone with information is asked to call Rockford Police.
