Oregon- In March, a fire destroyed Whiskey’s River Smokehouse at 123 N 2nd St in Oregon.  Workers at the daycare across the street are puzzled about why the scorched remains have not been torn down.

Jeff Croegaert, owner of Best Beginnings Learning Center, says, "I don't want people driving by or parking, or pulling in and out of our business and having to look at that everyday.”

Oregon residents claim they have seen rodents running in and out of the building. Chris Corcoran says he had to chase children out of Whiskey’s.

Branden Hilleman watched the building go up in flames from his home.  Hilleman says, "It's kind of the first thing you see when you come across the bridge into town, and it'd be nice for people to see something other than a burned down building. Maybe create a nice park out of it or expand on the park that's there.”

Oregon Police Chief Daren Dehaan says the city has to wait for an insurance company to complete their investigation before they can tear the building down.
