ROCKFORD - Two men are in custody after a police raid nets more than 150 pounds of marijuana.
The Winnebago County Sheriff's Police Metro Narcotic Unit and detectives searched the home of Cresencio Valencia-Alvarez. It came after he had been arrested during a traffic stop in which police recovered over 20 pounds of marijuana from his car.
After searching his home at 1203 21st St., police found over 150 pounds of marijuana and 332 grams of methamphetamine, as well as a handgun.
During the raid, police arrested Luis Alberto Aguilar-Arreguin. He was in the home and police found him to be in possession of cocaine.
Valencia-Alvarez faces multiple charges, the most serious being violation of the Cannabis Control Act and the Controlled Substance Act, as well as resisting police. Aguilar-Arreguin is also charged with violation of the Controlled Substance Act.
Both men are currently being held at the Winnebago County Jail.
