ROCKFORD - Representative Adam Kinzinger in Rockford Monday in hopes to bring new manufacturing jobs to the Rock River Valley.

He hosted a symposium with representatives from Boeing and other local manufacturers. The event allowed local business owners to meet one-on-one with Boeing reps with ideas on how to develop and spark the local economy.

"[The purpose of the symposium] is for things like what's Boeing looking for, and stuff along those lines. I think it's just an opportunity to say, hey, here's what we can do, here are some ideas we have, and hopefully sparks something that will get people back to work," says Kinzinger.

He says with over 250 aerospace companies in the region, Rockford is part of one of the largest economic corridors in the nation.
