Rockford Chamber Looking for 'Citizen of the Year'

Accepting nominations of individual who has contributed to progress of Rockford.

ROCKFORD - Nominations for the Rockford Chamber of Commerce 'Citizen of the Year' are now being accepted.

The honor is given to an individual citizen of the Rockford area who has "made an extraordinary contribution to the welfare and progress of the community."

There have been 12 'Citizen of the Year' honorees since the award was rebranded from the Top of Illinois Award in 2006. The person does not need to be a member of the Rockford Chamber of Commerce.

An official nomination form can be found here. The nomination includes a 500-word essay about how the nominee has positively impacted the business community and made the Rockford area a better place to live and work. Submissions are due Friday, January 12.

The award will be presented at the Chamber's annual dinner on January 25 at Giovanni's.
