ROCKFORD - Two local firms involved in the design of the state's only two-lane roundabout are recognized.
The awards were handed out by the 2014 American Council of Engineering Companies. Hanson Professional Services received an Honor Award in the "Transportation" category for their design of the roundabout. Missman, Inc. received an Honor Award in the "Studies, Research, and Consulting" categories for coordinating the project.
"These types of awards are further evidence of the high level of commitment we have as a community to bringing projects of quality to our citizens" says Mayor Larry Morrissey (I). "These are Rockford citizens doing technical work at the highest level across the state."
The two awards are recognized as the highest industry honors available in Illinois.
