ROCKFORD -- A Rockford man admits in federal court to robbing three banks in three months.

52 year-old Pedro Cordero admitted to bank heists from May to July at the BMO Harris Bank on Alpine, the US Bank in downtown Rockford and the Associated Bank on Center Terrace.  He was arrested one day after the July bank robbery when an officer recognized clothing he had worn during the robbery after pulling Cordero over for a traffic stop.

He'll be sentenced in January, and each count carries a maximum sentence of 20 years behind bars.
