Rockford Man Convicted of Child Sex Assault

Prosecutors say he took girl to his apartment and sexually assaulted her

ROCKFORD - A Rockford man has been convicted by a jury of Aggravated Criminal Sex Abuse of a child under 5-years-old and Unlawful Restraint.

Prosecutors say 32-year-old Thawahson Wah picked up a girl at her school and took her back to his apartment where he held her against her will and then sexually assaulted her.  He was arrested and jailed after the incident in November 2015 at his apartment in the 1400 block of 7th Avenue.

Wah could face up to seven years in prison and will also have to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.
