Rockford Police Searching Area on 10th Street for Shooting Suspect

Investigation related to 'shots fired' call near Lincoln Middle School

ROCKFORD - Rockford police searching for a suspect in the 3100 block of 10th St. in a shots fired case.

The initial shots fired incident happened early Friday in the area of Adams and Crosby Streets which may have involved a car-to-car shooting.  There were no reports of anyone being hit by gunfire, but police activity in the area did lead to a 'soft-lockdown' at Lincoln Middle School.  That lockdown has since been lifted.

Police say their investigation led them to the 10th St. location, but are not saying anything more at this time because this is an active investigation.  No arrests have been made.

More details as they become available.
