Rockford Police Take Robbery Suspect Into Custody After Foot Chase

Police say suspect robbed the Cash Store on 11th Street

ROCKFORD - Rockford Police arrested an Aurora man after they say he robbed the Cash Store on 11th Street. 22 year old Joseph Lafan was taken into custody after police say he entered the business at around 6p.m. on Friday.

People inside said Lafan entered and appeared to be armed with a handgun. He demanded cash, once he got some he ran off. Police were on scene quickly and say they saw Lafan running north on 11th. Police chased him down just a few blocks from the Cash Store.

Police say Lafan had a BB gun and cash on him. He is charged with armed robbery and resisting a police officer.
