Rockford Residents Robbed at Gunpoint On 6th Street

ROCKFORD - Two Rockford residents were robbed at gunpoint late Friday night.

Rockford Police say this happened around 10 p.m. in the 1200 block of South 6th Street.

The victims, a 40-year old white male and a 20-year old white female telling police them were walking down 6th when they were approached by two suspects.

The suspects, one armed with a black handgun demanded their property, then told them to walk in the opposite direction-fleeing on foot.

The victims weren't harmed during the incident.

Police say the suspects are described as follows:

Both are black males between the ages of 20-30 years old

Both around 6 feet tall, between 170-200 pounds.

One suspect was wearing a white t-shirt, shorts, and a dark baseball cap.

The other suspect was also wearing shorts, a dark baseball cap, but had on a red t-shirt.

This is an ongoing investigation- Rockford Police ask anyone with any information to contact them or Crimestoppers.
