WTVO/WQRF - "Saving children's lives, one treat at a time" was the goal for the folks at Dairy Queen restaurants across the country and right here in the are last Thursday, as part of an event called "Miracle Treat Day."
For every Blizzard treat that was sold, the restaurants are donating a dollar to the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.
"It helps out with the children and their families so they're not worried about how they're going to pay for their hospital bills," says Shaunice Thomas, assistant manager of Rockford area Dairy Queen. "It helps them also with a little bit of comfort knowing that they have research that's paid for, and it helps the community come together as one to support the children."
Dairy Queen has been working with the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals for 30 years, raising $100 million.
