Stateline Police Get a Refresher in Evasive Driving

- Loves Park-Local police get to put their driving skills to the test. It’s all helping to keep others and themselves safer.

The Northern Illinois Training Advisory Boards holds this training course yearly. It’s especially important because we’re seeing a lot of new officers on the streets.

Deborah Alms of NITAB says “anywhere between eight and twelve hours officers spend in their squad cars driving through your community. They need to watch out for everybody else, because sometimes you do no see them in an emergency situation.”

Organizers wanted to make it clear that this wass not a hot pursuit drill. That tactic is generally not used in neighborhoods because of the danger to the public.
