UPDATE: Toddler Shot on Concord Avenue, Police Investigating

Suspect still at large.

ROCKFORD - UPDATE (7:00 p.m.) Rockford Police say a man broke into a home on the 800 block of Concord Avenue at around 4 o'clock. Once inside, police say he opened fire. A three year old boy was struck at least once by the gunfire. 

The Rockford Fire Department took the boy to the hospital. Police say his injuries are non-life threatening. No one else inside was hurt, police can't confirm where the boy was shot. The suspect is still at large, anyone with information on his whereabouts are asked to call Rockford Police or Crime Stoppers.


Rockford Police are on the scene of a home where a toddler was shot at least three times.

It happened shortly after 4 p.m. in the 800 block of Concord Avenue. Based on police radio traffic, the child was shot twice in the hand and once in the foot. The condition of the child is not known.

It's unclear if any arrests have been made.
