Troopers Catch Man Wanted on Eight Warrants After Foot Chase

Traffic stop leads to arrest of one of Rockford's 'Most Wanted'

ROCKFORD - A man wanted on eight separate warrants Aggravated Assault and Aggravated Domestic Battery was arrested by Illinois State Police after a foot chase following a traffic stop.

21-year-old Mikieon Davon Taylor-Jones was taken into custody after a traffic stop near Kishwaukee and Buckbee Streets Monday morning.  Police say he attempted to flee on foot after leaping out the passenger side of the vehicle, but a perimeter was set up and a K-9 brought in to help with the search.

Taylor-Jones was spotted running through the Blackhawk Courts Housing Project and troopers gave chase, catching him behind 1415 Garden Court.

Taylor-Jones is wanted for Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm, Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, 2 counts each of Domestic Battery and Aggravated Domestic Battery, Aggravated Assault and Failure to Register as a Sex Offender.  Rockford Police were so concerned about him being at large, they had put out media alerts in recent months in an attempt to get him into custody.

He's being held in the Winnebago County Jail on a $32,500 bond pending his felony arraignment.
