Two Shootings, Two Miles Apart in Rockford Overnight

Police Investigate Shootings

Rockford - Rockford Police are investigating a pair of shootings that happened less than two miles apart from each other early Wednesday morning.

The most recent happened in the 600 block of Woodlawn Avenue just after 1am .

That's where a woman was hit once by gunfire.

The victim was taken to the hospital and treated for what police say are non-life-threatening injuries.

And hours before that, officers found a vehicle hit by bullets near the intersection of S. Main and Knowlton Street.

Luckily, no one was hurt in this incident. Witnesses told officers the shots came from a red car.
