The accident happened on route 38 east of Nelson Road near Dekalb. This was the scene last night after police say a car attempted to pass a semi truck. That's when it hit a white pick-up truck. Police say the driver of the car Corey Akers then fled the scene.

"His clothing was soiled with mud water when our officers arrived to interview him. They found shards of glass on his hair on his clothing. He initially told officers that he was involved in a fight behind one of the bars on the west end of town," said Gary Dumdie, Chief Deputy Sheriff at the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office.

Akers potentially faces felony charges. The driver and passenger of the pick up truck were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
