UPDATE -- New Details in Doddy Pursuit, Crash and Arrest

ROCK COUNTY -- 1:30pm Update -- Caught on the 4th of July!  Accused double murderer Terence Doddy was captured after a high speed chase which lasted for nearly an hour, and involved a half-dozen police agencies in two states.

Rockford Police Lt. Pat Hoey says Doddy was spotted at around 10:15am by a Rockton Police Sergeant by the 'Old Sand Trap' Bar on Wagon Wheel Rd.  Doddy was apparently attempting to hide in a wooded area near the bar.  The officer called for backup and attempted to take a 'tactical position,' but Doddy spotted the police vehicle and sped away.

Approximately 15 minutes later, an Illinois State Police unit spotted Doddy on Shirland Road and engaged in a pursuit.  That pursuit would wind through rural Winnebago and Rock Counties, including parts of Beloit and the Village of Shirland at speeds exceeding 100m.p.h. before eventually making his way back to southern Wisconsin.

Stop sticks were deployed as he sped west on Highway 81 towards Beloit, causing him to lose control onto an adjacent property and crash into a small grove of trees, badly damaging the stolen Nissam Altima and ending the pursuit.

Doddy was taken into custody after a brief struggle, and then to a Janesville hospital with minor injuries.  He faces murder and aggravated domestic battery charges.

UPDATE -- 12:30pm -- Police are now allowing access to the scene where Doddy crash his stolen car.  As you can see, he was apprehended after crashing into some trees during a police pursuit.

UPDATE -- 12:00noon -- The Rock County Sheriff's Office has confirmed that Doddy is in custody after a crash near the intersection of Highway 81 and Paddock Road following a high speed chase.  The area is now blocked off.

Rockton Police posted on their facebook page that Doddy was captured after a 40 minute chase.

Officers at the scene tell 'Eyewitness News' that Doddy has been taken to a local hospital for treatment.  It is not know how severe his injuries may be.

We have crews on the scene and will have more details as they become available.

UPDATE -- 11:50am -- Scanner reports indicate 'subject now in custody.'
