UPDATE: Victim Identified In Deadly Accident at South Beloit Behr Iron and Metal

UPDATE (3/11/14): The victim is identified as Beloit native Alfredo Arrendondo, 39.

SOUTH BELOIT - A man in his mid 30s is confirmed dead by South Beloit Fire Chief Kenneth Morse after being trapped in a piece of machinery at Behr Iron and Metal at 201 Wheeler Avenue, a metal recycling plant.

The accident was reported around 7:15 Monday night. A helicopter was called to the scene but called off when South Beloit and Beloit Fire Department determined the man had died.

The Winnebago County Coroner and Chaplin are on site and all operations have stopped.  There is no estimation of when the facility will reopen.
