Officers received additional information that the suspect fled from the blue pick up truck in a tan Buick of Oldsmobile. Officers located the suspect vehicle and a short vehicle pursuit ensued. Officers lost the vehicle in the area of 11th Street and 23rd Avenue. A short time later, officers located the suspect vehicle in a garage in the 1100 block of 21st Place. The suspect, Michael O. Fryer, was located in a residence in the 1100 block of 21st Place where he was placed under arrest on an unrelated arrest warrant.
UPDATED 4:42p 8/16/12: Rockford Police have announced they have a person of interest in custody on an unrelated warrant and are questioning this subject in regards to the armed robbery to the BMO Harris Bank.
ROCKFORD --- Police are investigating an armed robbery at the BMO Harris Bank located inside the Hilander grocery store at 1715 Rural St.
The suspect who had been inside the bank left the scene in a blue pick-up truck, drove a short distance and got into a tan or beige 2005 Buick LeSabre (4 door). The driver of the Buick / second suspect is described as a dark completed black male, 25 to 35 years of age, with braids in the back of his hair wearing a dark blue and yellow shirt.
The vehicle and suspects were last seen headed west bound on 23rd Ave. from 11th St. The Buick has only three wheel covers.
The suspects are still at large and the incident is still under investigation.
