Wind and Hail Causes Damage to Forest City Neighborhood

ROCKFORD- Today’s severe storm caused damage to a Rockford neighborhood near Jefferson High School. Jefferson Pointe residents say the storm sounded like a freight train passing through. Wind ripped a part roofs and fences.

Neighbors say the storm lasted no more than ten minutes, but caused substantial damage.

“Their fence was completely gone and the pole sticking into the side of the house from the trampoline that flew over three houses and landed four houses down in the front yard. It was just, you had roofing everywhere, tiles everywhere, and you had fencing everywhere," said Resident John Battaglia.

Battaglia says all of the families in the neighborhood worked together to help clean up the damage.
