South Beloit, Illinois-Lutheran only beat Byron once in four tries this season, but that one game was the biggest one.  It was Tuesday night at the 2A South Beloit Sectional.

The Tigers jumped out to an 18-8 lead, but the Crusaders turned up the intensity on defense and the Saders shots started to fall.  They rallied to go up 26-20 at halftime.

The Saders stretched their lead to 14 at 40-26.  Byron made a little rally, but the Tigers had finally met their match after 28 straight wins.

Alex Oates led Lutheran with 17 points. Derrick Seyller had ten points.  Tarence Roby, Teyvious Montgomery, and Freshman Nate Wieting each scored eight points.

Gavyn Nelson led Byron with 18 points and Hunter Hill added 11.

Lutheran will play in Friday's Championship game against the winner of Wednesday's game between Plano and Gordon Tech.
