ROCKFORD-There are few things more challenging than getting all 16 NIU head coaches together at one time in one place. But it is possible.

It happened Tuesday evening at Franchesco's in Rockford. There they were all 16 head coaches of all the sports at NIU meeting with NIU fans. It's part of NIU's three-day summer circuit. They were in Chicago Monday. They'll be in Aurora Wednesday.

Athletic Director Sean Frazier says it's important that NIU reaches out to the Huskie Nation.

"This is about engagement. You know Rockford's home. This is what it's all about. All of our coaches, we have Rockford residents on our rosters. Our institution is entwined with the Rockford community. This was extremely important to give back, but more importantly to connect with this base."

Football coach Rod Carey told the crowd what he's been saying all spring. He still doesn't know who his starting quarterback will be this fall.
