Star senior Sophie Brunner called it the tightest game she had ever played in her high school career. If it weren't for a couple of lucky bounces, it could have been the Lady Bulldogs first loss in the playoffs in over two seasons.
Aquin struggled the entire game, turning the ball over and shooting poorly from inside and beyond the three-point arc. But they rallied in the fourth quarter, and in the closing seconds Brunner got her hands on a loose ball and scored the game-winning basket.
The Lady Bulldogs look for their second straight state championship Saturday afternoon at 2:30.
