Auburn assistant coach Joe Danforth and his sons JD Danforth and Fred Van Vleet led a group of Rockford basketball legends in teaching younger athletes about the fundamentals of the game.
Coach Danforth emphasized, "This isn't a babysitting camp." The staff is at Auburn to teach focused young players about the fundamentals of the game and what they can do to work hard and improve.
Van Vleet, who just finished a successful freshman campaign at Wichitas State University, said that younger players need to understand the work they have to do to reach the upper echelons of basketball.
"It's not just as easy as saying, 'I want to be where Fred is. You have to actually put in work."
